Asheville’s Wine Tours
The Biltmore is a great spot to start because you can pair your wine tour with a visit to America's largest mansion. On the grounds of the Biltmore Estate sits the Biltmore Winery. Since the 1970s, wine has been an important element of the Biltmore experience.
Addison Farms Vineyard is located in the picturesque rolling hills of the rural Leicester community, just 17 miles northwest of downtown Asheville. Addison Farms is a family-owned and run vineyard, winery, and tasting room. Take a tour, get a personalized tasting experience, or simply rest in the rocking seats on the porch while admiring the 360-degree mountain views.
Plēb Urban Winery focuses on using grapes from local farmers and growers. Plēb produces more than 20 small-batch wines that represent the Asheville area from six farms in Western North Carolina. The winery, located in Asheville's River Arts District, has become known for having one of the area's most interesting wine selections on tap.
Best Asheville Wine Bars
The historic Grove Arcade houses the Battery Park Book Exchange and Champagne Bar. This hidden gem combines a lovely bookstore environment with a large wine selection. Every weekend, they have live jazz music and welcome pets.
Bottle Riot, located in the River Arts District, offers 60 wines by the glass from across the world. The bar specializes in "sustainable, biodynamic, and one-of-a-kind, rare, and plain geeky" wines.
Weinhaus, Asheville's oldest beer and wine store located in downtown Asheville. The Cork & Keg Bar, located in the Weinhaus, serves a variety of wine and beer by the glass, as well as cheese plates and nibbles. Throughout the year, Cork and Keg host a variety of live music events.
