Navigating the Italian Consulate system in America is probably just as complicated as obtaining your Italian dual citizenship and now with the COVID-19 pandemic, the process has become even more confusing. But don't lose hope! In this fourth session of NIAF's Virtual Dual Citizenship Series, Lauren Hopkins, founder of Your Italian Passport, explains the ins and outs of setting up an appointment, how to prepare for it and communicate effectively with consulate personnel during it and what to expect after it. Lauren Hopkins, founder of Your Italian Passport, is a practicing attorney, licensed in New York, Florida and Washington, DC, of Italian American descent with a thorough understanding of the ins and outs of the Italian dual citizenship application process, including collection of U.S. vital records, the research and procurement of naturalization documents, and the affixation of apostilles required for recognition of foreign records by the Italian government.
