Chateau Soucherie 2017 $21 $17.99
incredibly delicate and pale, elegant and light. Made from 90% Cabernet Franc and 10% Gamay from a schist-dominated vineyard called “l’Astrée.” Direct pressing with no maceration, hence the pale pink hue. The acidity is clean. the wine presents typical Cabernet Franc varietal typicity but without any herbal or earthy smudginess. 2016 was an incredibly challenging vintage for Soucherie, with painfully reduced yields, but they managed to create a classic and beautifully balanced rosé.
Depueble Beaujolais Rose' 2017 $14.99 $12.99
In the hamlet of Le Breuil, deep in the southern Beaujolais and perched above a narrow creek, Domaine Dupeuble has been operating since 1512. The name of the domaine has changed just three times in its history, most recently when the last heir, Anna Asmaquer, married Jules Dupeuble in 1919. Kermit first met Ghislaine and Stéphane’s father, Damien, for lunch in Paris in the late 1980s. Aged for three months in barrel, this smooth, rounded rosé is both fruity and rich. It has good acidity from the attractive red-currant fruit and an orange tang of zest at the end. Kermit Lynch Import
Backsberg Pinotage Rose, South Africa $14.99 $12.99
Red fruit flavors of cherry and strawberry give way to minty freshness gleaned from earlier picked fruit. Lightly tinted from red grape skins, this salmon hued wine is fruity and juicy on the palate. Low in tannins, it displays delightful notes of melon, ripe tropical fruit and strawberry.
