*** Another BIG RED ***
"The Wild Ride" 2015 by TAIT
A blend of 60% Shiraz, 20% Grenache and 20% Mataro

*** Teaching Moment! ***
Mataró, also known as Mourvedre or Monastrell, is a red grape varietal grown in many regions around the world including the Rhone and Provence in France, the Valencia and Jumilla regions of Spain, as well as the Balearic Islands, California, Washington, Australia and South Africa. Mataro wine is medium to full-bodied with a dark purple color. On the nose, you will find herbal notes as well as spice, licorice and leather. Dark fruits like plums and dark cherries are apparent on the palate with an obvious savoury presence with spice and leather.

Winemaker says this is a full bodied wine, but one that stays within normal bounds. Black cherry fruit is tinged
with mocha and baking spices, ending in a dusting of soft tannins.

Tait's 2015 The Wild Ride boasts hints of vanilla and graham crackers on the nose, alongside notes of mulberries and plums. A big, full-bodied wine is still reasonably light on the palate, with just a touch of warmth on the finish. Drink it over next 3-4 years.
