Snoqualmie Whistle Stop Red 2012
Not to date myself but I can remember when Snoqualmie was, literally, a lean to about an hour up the road from Seattle. We all wondered how this upstart thought they could compete with Chateau Ste. Michelle. Boy, did they! Since that day, Snoqualmie has produced quality wines for the price and this bottle is no exception. This wine is named for the whistling trains that roll through the Columbia Valley. The evening train signals the end of the day and time to relax with a good bottle of red. 68% Cabernet Sauvignon and 32% Merlot, this is your everyday, end of the day-RED. Medium to full bodied, the nose is black fruit and raspberry with smoky chocolate and tobacco that rolls over to the palate. Smooth.
