About: Wine Tasting with WineMaker Michele D'Aprix
Please join The Asheville School of Wine as we present Winemaker Michele D'Aprix, the only American woman winemaker in Bordeaux, on Thursday, March 15th from 5 to 6:30 @MetroWines.
Michele D' Aprix makes the scandalously good and wildly popular "Pentimento," a Bordeaux blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Michele will present "Pentimento" and other wines in her portfolio including MazCaz White and Red Rhone blends, "on the taste" and "on the house" @MetroWines.
"Michele and her wines have been popular since we opened the doors almost five years ago," says Gina Trippi, co-owner of MetroWines. "The wines are great but it is meeting the charismatic, accomplished and approachable Michele, that makes this event a must for anyone who appreciates winemaking."
A rising star in the wine world, Michele took her work in chemistry (note the chemical formula on "Pentimento") west and added a degree in Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis. Michele then headed to Bordeaux and trained with accomplished and highly regarded winemaker Stephane Derenocourt known for his many bottles that have garnered 100 points from critics. Adding her own touch, Michele started her own project in St. Emilion, "Pentimento." And the rest is, as they say, wine history!
