In 1978, little known British Wine Merchant, Steve Spurrier, changed the wine world

and brought California Wine to world awareness. Spurrier arranged

"The Judgment of Paris" pitting European Wines against wines from California 

in a blind tasting. And guess what? A Chardonnay from Chateau Montelena

and a Cabernet Sauvignon from Stag's Leap WON.
