) from the Willamette Valley in Oregon and to tasting of 5 of his highly regarded wines.
"If you shop @MetroWines, you know Grochau Cellars," said John Kerr, co-owner of MetroWines, "This is the winery that brings us one of our customer favorites, Commuter Cuvee Pinot Noir."
John Grochau was first introduced to wine in his early 20’s, while racing bicycles for a French team in the Loire Valley. For several years, he raced through some of France’s most revered winemaking regions including Champagne, Burgundy and the across the Loire Valley. When he returned to his hometown of Portland, Oregon, he went to work in the restaurant business and quickly discovered an even greater appreciation for wine.
14 years later, Grochau plunged into winemaking. After working at Erath and Brick House Vineyards, Grochau's first vintage was in 2002.
Inspired by the diversity of the Willamette Valley’s soils and microclimates, Grochau sources fruit from fifteen organic and sustainably-farmed vineyards to produce food friendly wines.
In addition to the wildly popular Commuter Cuvee, John Grochau will lead us through a tasting of four other well received wines:
2013 Melon de Bourgogne
2014 Guild White
2015 Guild Rose'
2014 Commuter Cuvee'
2012 Eola-Amity Hills
The event is "on the house" and parking is free, easy and close.
