News Release: Wednesday, April 25th, 2018

About: French Chablis Tasting with Winemaker

Please join us for a French Chablis Tasting with winemaker Francois Servin, in a rare appearance in this country, on Saturday, May 19th from 4 to 6pm @MetroWines.

Francois Servin loves to make wine. Following old world traditional winemaking practices, this ninth generation winemaker says, while many have made winemaking a science, it is, for Servin, still an art. The Servin Family traces their roots and winemaking heritage back to 1652.

"Chablis garnered a less than positive reputation for decades as a result of jug wine labeled Chablis in 1970s," says Gina Trippi, co-owner of MetroWines."But Chardonnay made in Chablis, much like sparkling wine made in Champagne, cannot be replicated.

This collection of exclusive and limited distribution wines are from a single vineyard in Chablis. With different characteristics ranging from tropical fruit notes to tangerine and citrus to brioche and caramel, all are rich with good minerality.

The wine trade journal in Burgundy rates Francois Servin as one of the top two winemakers our of 120 in Chablis.
