Domaine des Bosquets Gigondas 2012

2012 Domaine des Bosquets Gigondas

Perfect for Thanksgiving, this mostly Grenache blend will partner up with almost any flavor that shows up! From Eric Solomon Selections.

93-95 Points from Robert Parker, Wine Advocate

"Looking just as good, the 2012 Gigondas Lieu Dit, which was tasted out of barrel, offers up spectacular kirsch, raspberry, licorice and assorted crushed flower nuances to go with a medium to full-bodied, elegant, yet richly textured profile on the palate. A blend of almost all Grenache, from sandy soils and aged in smaller, older barrels, this impressive effort will drink well on release given its fruit and texture, yet evolve gracefully for 12-15 years. Don’t miss it! Owned by the Brechet family (of Chateau Vaudieu in Chateauneuf du Pape) Domaine des Bouquet covers 75 acres (65 of which are in Gigondas) and is run by the young, yet incredibly talented, Julien Brechet. Philippe Cambie also consults here, and while the style emphasizes fruit and texture, these never lose their southern Rhone style. These are easily some of the top 2011s I was able to taste, and the ‘12s are just as strong. This is an estate that needs to be on every reader’s radar!"

94 Points from Wine Spectator

"A silky, caressing style, with cherry confiture, blueberry reduction and bergamot notes all mixed together, inlaid with anise and black tea details on the finish. Long and refined in the end, revealing a lovely iron note buried deep in the folds of the suave fruit. Drink now through 2022."

90-92 Points from Stephen Tanzer,

International Wine Cellar

"Bright ruby. Spicy, mineral-accented cherry, raspberry and lavender aromas, with a dusting of white pepper. Clean and zesty, offering gently sweet red fruit and floral character and building spiciness. Finishes quite long, with vibrant raspberry and floral pastille flavors and smooth, harmonious tannins."
