Blending wine and football? They said it couldn't be done! Football Aficionado and MetroWines Customer, Ken Nelson, put it all together in a fun and instructional video on the basics of football just in time for the Superbowl.
"Ken's take on the game is instructional, original and fun," says Gina Trippi, co-owner of Metro Wines. "Even if you already know all about football, you will appreciate this new look at the game."
The 10 minute video briefly traces the history of football, the structure of the National Football League, the player positions and what they do drawing similarities to chess strategies and the wine world.
"After being house-bound for so many weeks, you are ready to watch something on TV other than your favorite streaming service. Schitt’s Creek, The Crown, Yellowstone, The Queen’s Gambit, even Bridgerton are great but we’ve been there and done that," says Ken. "This is why football is such a welcome distraction. Nothing is scripted, anything is possible, and crazy things often happen. And as each game takes a little over three hours, there is plenty of time to enjoy some really good wines while we watch."
