Ciao Asheville Presents Slow Food Movement February 20

Ciao Asheville presents Slow Food Movement

“Ciao Asheville,” is pleased to welcome Jason DiLoreti, an Asheville area resident and board member of Slow Food Asheville, a chapter of the International Slow Food Movement on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 5:30 to 6:30 @Metrowines.

The event will be hosted by Gail Rampersaud, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist from University of Florida, and Event Coordinator for “Ciao Asheville.”

Highly qualified to speak on the subject, Jason received a Master’s Degree in Food Culture and Communication with a focus on high quality products from University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo, Italy. The university was started by Carlo Petrini, Founder of The International Slow Food Movement.

The International Slow Food Movement was founded in Italy in 1986. Jason will give us a historical perspective on Slow Food’s roots in Italy, the present and the future of this organization that promotes local food and traditional cooking.

Jason holds Dual Citizenship with the US and Italy and will also offer a few comments on obtaining Italian Citizenship through your Italian ancestry as well as his own journey to citizenship.
