"For spiritual seekers, not only is the book a worthwhile read, it just may change your life."
About Lois: Born in Miami, Lois Chazen now lives in Black Mountain. Her first book, "Loving Ruby," inspired by the true story of a baby female cardinal she rescued, won the GOLD Mom's Choice Award in the Philanthropic category. The Defenders of Wildlife emblem is on the front cover and the organization still receives proceeds from this book. Lois also won the Readers View Literary Award.
Lois has recently created an amazing new series," Maddy Magoo's Animal Rescues," featuring different animal sanctuaries, representing all categories of species in every book with a portion of the proceeds sent to the sanctuaries and affiliate organizations.
Her first book from this series, "Tugen" (Too-gen), is also based on a true story about a young rooster who was rescued by the Asheville Humane Society and placed at Goat Mountain Sanctuary. Tugen was clueless about who, what, or where he was, and why he was abandoned by his mother.
The second book in the series called, "River," about the beautiful and popular wolf-dog at Full Moon Farm in Black Mountain was written to help the wolves, wolf-dogs, and dogs. Lois will be spotlighting all species of animals.
"My life-path is to create compassion for all animals on Earth, by creating a consciousness shift in humankind," Lois says. "My heart belongs to the animals!"
