4 Best Asheville Wine Tasting Spots

Here are a few places to enjoy wine tastings.

1. Biltmore Winery

Biltmore Estate is famous as the largest home in the United States. Originally built for the Vanderbilt family, the Biltmore Estate opened its welcoming doors in hopes to attract and revitalize the area with tourism during the Great Depression.

Since then, Biltmore has expanded with tours, wine, gift shops, hotels, and restaurants. Visit the beautiful indoor/outdoor wine bar for charcuterie and locally-made truffles and enjoy your complimentary wine tasting at the tasting room included in admission.

Biltmore has endless varieties of wine.

2. Plēb Urban Winery

When you venture into Asheville’s River Arts District, check out Plēb Urban Winery. It’s one of the best Asheville wineries for space and ambiance and great tasting wines.

Plēb Urban Winery outsources grapes from local farms and creates small-batch tapped and canned wines.

Indulge in a wine flight as you sit at a wine barrel high-top in an urban-esque garage filled with beautifully painted murals.

After a satisfying tasting, you can explore artists’ studios and shops around the area and take a stroll along the French Broad River.

3. Addison Farms Vineyard

Just 17 miles northwest of downtown Asheville, you will find Addison Farms Vineyard in the beautiful rolling hills of the rural Leicester community. A fourth-generation family farm, Addison Farms Vineyard creates small-batch fine wines and offers 360-degree mountain views from the winery and tasting room.

Take a tour, experience a personalized tasting experience, or simply enjoy the mountain views while relaxing in the rocking chairs on the porch.

4. Marked Tree Vineyard

One of our new favorite wineries near Asheville, Marked Tree Vineyard is known for the romantic atmosphere, views, and vibes. Located in Flat Rock, you can see out over the gorgeous vineyard while enjoying a tasty glass of wine.

There are numerous outdoor seating areas around the winery that include picnic tables, chairs, cafe tables, and you’ll even spot a few ancient fireplaces throughout the property. They host wine club events along with yoga and forest bathing as their furry family members wander the property.

MetroWines offers a wide selection of wines, focusing on pairing the right wine with any dish or event.

Join us for tasting during Wednesday nights that benefits a local charity or “Almost Free Fridays,” and be introduced to our selection of wines perfect for special events, weekend gatherings, or just something to pair with dinner.

Please see our events calendar for all our weekly tasting and special events on our websites. We are within walking distance of everything downtown Asheville has to offer.
