Wine Tour to France

Wine Tour to Rhone Valley and Provence, September 10th - 24th, with Jean-Christian Rotagni of Contrast Tours

Experience the wine regions of Provence and the Rhône Valley like an insider! Native Frenchman Jean-Christian Rotagni of Contrast Wines will take you to the best local restaurants, wineries as well as dine with winemakers. You will even tour several wineries during the harvest and crush, a rare opportunity.

But this is not just a wine tour. You’ll also visit Roman and pre-historic vestiges like the oldest cave paintings in Europe, and meet local photographers and artists. For a unique experience, Jean limits the number of guests, books hotels that are four star or equivalent and selects restaurants with quality cuisine.

World Verdejo Day

World Verdejo day which was held last week was a chance to spread the “notoriety “ of DO Rueda, and to better inform consumers on the quality of the wines from the region, according to managing director Santiago Mora.

Shop Balnea Verdejo @MetroWines $12.99

From Vinex:  “Verdejo day has become more and more important,” he claimed. The event, which first took place in 2013 in four cities in the US, had grown, within five years, to become an international celebration of the Verdejo grape led by DO Ruedea in tandem with the Ribera de Duero DO.

Another 5 Star Review

Great selection of wine from around the world. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I enjoy rather unusual wines like wine from Sicily, and reds that can be served chilled in the summertime. They had some in stock and the recommendations they made were very good. (NG)

5 Star Review!

Another 5 Star Review for Kristen, Wedding Coordinator @MetroWines:

Kristen and Metro Wines were absolutely wonderful assisting us in selecting wines and beer for our rehearsal dinner and wedding in May 2022. We are Asheville natives and have been patrons of Metro for many years - they are simply the best! Kristen was lovely to work with! She has extensive experience in the wedding industry and was able to make several recommendations to us beyond wine. She provided us with wines to taste which paired with our rehearsal and reception menus and we had a lot of fun sampling the wines! Metro delivered the wines/beers for both events and the logistics were seamless. I highly recommend using Kristen and Metro Wines for your wedding/events. It was easy, tasty and they made the wine selection totally effortless which is what everyone needs when planning a wedding. Thank you, Kristen and Metro!
