Grand Re-Opening in MountainX!

From MountainX, Wednesday, May 11th by Kay West:

Aging in place

On Feb. 15, MetroWines closed its flagship store on Charlotte Street to walk-in customers, as renovations were underway to restore the small building to its century-old bones. (The shop continued to accept online orders and offer curbside pickup throughout the process.) “We took off all the drywall to expose the original brick and removed the drop ceiling to reveal the original tin ceiling,” says store manager Zach Eidson. “That added about two feet of height and really brightened things up.”

When the store opened to the public again on April 22, customers saw not only the refurbished old but also some new additions, including flooring, racks and lighting.

What has not changed, assures Eidson, is the layout. “Regular customers walk in and are blown away by the look, but glad to see their favorite wines in the same places.”

On Saturday, May 14, 1-5 p.m., MetroWines will celebrate its official grand reopening with a tasting of DAOU Vineyards wines, paired with small bites by chef Sam Etheridge.

Bubbles at The Bar

Please join us on Tuesday, June 14th, for a tasting of four everyday sparkling wines with Josh Austin, Freedom Beverage Company, "on the house" @MetroWines, 169 Charlotte Street in Asheville.
"We want customers to become more familiar with sparkling wines," says Gina Trippi, co-owner of MetroWines. "Sparkling wine is not just for celebrations! Sommeliers tell us that there is hardly a food that does not pair with sparkling wine and sparkling wine really over-delivers for its price."

Restoration. Preservation. Party!

News Release: Tuesday, April 12th, 2022
About: Celebrate the Restoration and the People Who Made it Happen!

You rarely have the opportunity to meet those who brought a historic property back to its original glory. Built in 1923, according to Buncombe County, and used as a neighborhood grocery store, Metro Wines continues to carry on the tradition in 2022 of serving the community.
