About: French Dinner with Chef Sam Etheridge and Importer JP Bourgeois @MetroWines
Please join us on Thursday, December 15th @MetroWines for The French Fête. Start the holiday season with innovative dishes by Chef Sam Etheridge of AMBROZIA paired with wines from Asheville based importer Jean Philippe Bourgeois. The evening starts at 6:30 with a Champagne Toast followed by seating at 7pm for a four course menu. The first course will be paired with a lovely White Bordeaux and the next two courses will each be partnered with a red Bordeaux with the last course with a wine from St. Emilion, all expressing the wide range and styles of this famed region. What could be more French?
JP Bourgeois travels and searches out rare French handcrafted wines produced from small family estates. Many of the wineries have been operating for hundreds of years. By working with small, family-owned estates, JP Bourgeois not only insures the wine is high quality but also supports a way of life that has been handed down in France through generations.
“Every estate’s wines change from one year to another depending on the characteristics of the harvest, the soil, weather, geology, varietals and the style.” says Philippe. "So that even if the producer uses the same plot of land, each vintage will present unique characteristics."
Chef Sam Etheridge was the chef and owner at AMBROZIA, a highly regarded and wildly popular restaurant in North Asheville a few years back. Since then, he has been bringing his magic to catering, preparing innovative dishes based on local foods. “I have a passion for wine and love to explore creative food pairings,” says Chef Sam. “Metro Wines provides a forum for the best of both worlds."
The evening will be $100 plus tax. To reserve your place at the table, please call (828) 575-9525 or online here.
* Please note that the menu will include seafood, pork, beef and wheat. Because this is a specially curated menu for the holidays to work with Bordeaux, there are no substitutions.
