David will incorporate the history of the estate and its relationship to the area, the kinds of wine and food that are specific to it, as well as an art history component. Spannocchia is off the beaten path, but is well situated for easy day trips to Siena, San Gimignano, Florence, Pisa, the Tuscan coast, and other activities and experiences that are the hallmark of the Tuscan travel experience. David will weave in stories of his past workshops and explain how they not only focus on painting but also the broader culture of the region. Typical activities include a tour of Siena, cooking class, and visits to local heritage sites. David will be providing information about his next workshop coming up in summer 2022.
To help us get in the Tuscan frame of mind, Metro Wines will present "on the taste" a white and red wine representing this region of Tuscany.
Cost is $10 + tax which includes the small wine tasting. You can register online here or by calling Metro Wines at 828-575-9525.
Come help us celebrate the new year as we transport ourselves to the Tuscan hills for an “off the beaten path” look at this magical area.
Note: Ciao Asheville events have limited seating and tend to sell out so please reserve your seat early.
