Argyle Sparkling Wine Tasting
Saturday, 19 November 2022 14:37Please join us on Friday, December 16th, from 4pm to 6pm @MetroWines on Charlotte Street to taste three Sparkling Wines from Argyle, a pioneer in sustainability and a leader in domestic sparkling wines. In addition to the extraordinary wine craft showcased in these sparkling wines, all three are remarkably affordable! The event is "on the house" and "at the bar."
Argyle Winemaker Nate Klostermann has been recognized for making graceful and complex sparkling wines, In fact, the greatest area of innovation and experimentation at Argyle can be found in the winery’s renowned Extended Tirage program, which has set the standard for New World sparkling wine, earning the highest scores for any sparkling wines made outside of Champagne!
The event is hosted by Chris Curtis of Winebow and offers three extraordinary wines:
Argyle Brut 2018 (55% Chardonnay, 35% PN, 10% Pinot Meunier) 2018
The Argyle founding winemaker, Rollin Soles, came to the Willamette Valley in the 1980’s to make this wine. Orchard fruits, citrus peel, and toasted brioche are framed around a creamy center and long, graceful finish.
Argyle Blanc de Blancs 2019 (100% Chardonnay)
One singular variety grown on one solitary block from one single vineyard in one sparkling vintage! Argyle Blanc de Blancs makes a singular statement for American grower sparkling wine. This is one-of-a-kind for American Sparkling Wine: 100% Dijon Clone Chardonnay from a single block in the famed Knudsen Vineyard, a very sophisticated and pure Blanc de Blancs. Notice aromas of citrus blossom, pear brioche, honey with a modicum of quince paste. The texture is creamy yet balanced on a delightful mineral edge. Fruit flavors of Meyer lemon and Anjou pear are framed with a lovely essence of hibiscus blossom. The finish is long lasting of pear, honey, and a touch of yeasty coconut.

Argyle Brut Rosé (55% PN, 35% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Meunier)
Argyle Brut Rosé artfully weds rose petal, spring blossom and cardamom flavors with an elegant, supple structure that bubbles to a ginger-laced finish. A true “wow” wine, this bubbly that will turn any gathering into a celebration.
