AMBROZIA PopUP 2

AMBROZIA PopUP 2

Tuesday, 30 August 2022 15:34
Please join us on Thursday, October 13th, starting 6:30 @MetroWines Charlotte Street. Chef Sam Etheridge of AMBROZIA Catering prepares innovative dishes, all paired with wines from Trione Vineyards and Winery presented by Tom Leiner of Grapevine Distributors.

"Over the summer, AMBROZIA was welcomed back to Asheville at the 1st PopUP Dinner @MetroWines," says Gina Trippi, co-owner of MetroWines, "And now, with this second event, we can say with confidence, that AMBROZIA is definitely back home!"

For those of you who are new to the area, Ambrozia was a highly regarded and wildly popular restaurant in North Asheville with a Chef Sam Etheridge driven menu featuring modern cuisine from the American South. "Ambrozia is legend in Asheville!" says Tom Leiner of Grapevine Distributors. "Asheville had a true neighborhood bistro in Ambrozia with an ever changing menu based on fresh and local farm to table dishes often paired with Trione Wines. Much missed, the partnership returns!"

The Trione Vineyards and Winery story starts 50 years ago. With three generations, decades of farming, five ranches, the family is deeply rooted in the Sonoma County wine industry. Dedicated farmers for 50 years, brothers Mark and Vic Trione own and cultivate close to 600 vineyard acres in three prime Sonoma County appellations: Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley and Sonoma Coast.

In 2005, the Trione Family took a giant step forward building a winery in Alexander Valley and appointing Scot Covington, known as a winemaker to the winemakers, as the lead winemaker for Trione. Living a winemaker’s dream, Scot selects just three percent of the Trione estate grapes and crafts small lots of wine. He says: “It is an honor to work with a wonderful family that brings the best they have to the industry, community and customers.”

Trione winery is located next to a 1908 landmark stone building in Alexander Valley. Respecting history and tradition, Trione restored the Old Stone Building, preserving the history and authentic character. The storied building, carefully built to be earthquake-proof, features the area’s first concrete floor and magnificent Douglas fir beams. That kind of respect for tradition and the environment is brought forth in Trione Wines.

During the evening, both Chef Sam Etheridge and Tom Leiner will offer commentary on the pairings and be available for questions. To insure that all diners can interact with Sam and Tom, there will be limited seating. "And any time either Sam, Tom or Trione is involved, tickets go fast!" says Zach Eidson, General Manager @Metro wines.

The evening is $85 plus tax. To reserve your seat, please call (828) 575-9525 or shop online here: https://metro-wines.shoplightspeed.com/october-13th-ambrozia-pop-up-dinner.html
